About
Hi, I'm Sham. I make Fall Asleep Tonight because I've spent way too many nights staring at the ceiling doing mental math about how many hours of sleep I'd get if I fell asleep RIGHT NOW. Eventually I got curious enough about the science of sleep that I decided to just write it all down. This site is that notebook, cleaned up and made public.
On the side, I also run Smart Sleeping, a YouTube channel with long, narrated stories about history, science, and culture, designed specifically to help you fall asleep. Think of it as a bedtime story for adults who are curious about the periodic table, ancient Rome, or how coffee took over the world, minus the plot twists that keep you awake.
Every article starts from real research, Reddit threads, published studies, and a healthy dose of my own insomnia, and every claim gets tracked back to its source, listed at the bottom so you can check my work.
I'm not a doctor or a sleep specialist, and I've never pretended otherwise. What I am is a seasoned IT professional with over 30 years of experience across finance, media, health tech, and AI, most of it spent leading engineering teams and building systems where getting the details wrong actually matters. That's not a sleep credential, but it's exactly the habit that has me cross-checking a study at 1am instead of just trusting whatever a supplement brand's landing page tells me.
If you like what you read here, the channel is a natural next step. And if you've got a sleep question you want answered, or you just want to tell me your favorite ceiling-staring hour, I'd love to hear from you.
